How it started

Why would anyone start a box company?

Gavin Dove noticed how many boxes Vancouver gets, then throws away. So he built TerraTote: a reusable, recyclable box that ships flat, stores flat, and keeps waste out of the landfill. The idea was simple. The commitment is not.

OUR IMPACT

Less waste, box after box

TerraTote measures success by the waste we keep out of landfills, one compact, recyclable box at a time.

100%

Recyclable materials

Every TerraTote ships flat, breaks down flat, and goes straight into recycling.

0

Single-use plastic

No plastic tape, no plastic wrap, nothing that lingers for centuries.

2x

More boxes per load

Compact design means fewer truck trips and a lighter footprint in Vancouver.

WHO WE ARE

The Vancouver team behind TerraTote

We're a small crew in Vancouver who believe a box can do more. Less material, more reuse, and compact design that ships flat.

Early customers back TerraTote's recycled boxes

We're just getting started in Vancouver, and early feedback guides how we refine every box we ship.

I signed up for TerraTote's early list after seeing the flat-pack design. It's compact, sturdy, and knowing it's recycled makes it an easy choice for our weekly shipments.

The box broke down flat in seconds, which meant more room in the recycling bin and less hassle overall. Exactly the kind of detail I hoped a local company would get right.

It's rare to find packaging that's both recycled and genuinely reusable. I've already reused mine twice for moving smaller items, and it still holds up well.

I appreciate that they're starting small and focusing on quality. The box feels well-made, not flimsy like some other eco-options I've tried before.
